Software Applications Developer
Location: College Station/Bryan

Primary Duties:

Responsible for developing, maintaining and supporting software applications for the Forest Resource Protection Division and the Emergency Operations Center. Provides consulting, technical support and training to software users and to technical staff, evaluates technology, maintains and develops equipment and applications under the direction of the EOC Coordinator.
Ocasional Duties:

Investigates and resolves software problems; debugs web and database applications; implements changes through coding and testing; and assists in maintaining the agency web site and its content. Produces special reports, PowerPoint presentations and graphics as needed or requested. Assist with other departmental or agency projects as needed, including support of emergency response activities. Recommends technical and procedural design changes for new or revised applications. Other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:

Required Education: Baccalaureate degree in Computer Science or related field of study or equivalent experience.Required Experience: Experience in design and development of web and database applications.Required Special Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills: Experience in design and development of web and database applications.
Preferred Education and Experience:

Preferred Education: Preferred Experience: Working knowledge of content management, SQL database administration, Visual Basic, .NET, ASP.NET, HTML, XML, XHTML, Java, Javascript, SQL, Macromedia, IIS Administration, Microsoft Certified SQL Administrator, Certified Internet Webmaster.Preferred Special Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:
Other Requirements and Comments:

Office environment with occasional exposure to weather conditions. Will require communication with visitors, employees etc. in person, telephonically, or electronically. Must have or acquire a valid Texas Driver's License within 6 months and have driving record that meets agency requirements. Occasional travel with overnight stays may be required.
