Our Southeast Texas woodlands are fire adapted ecosystems. Fire is a reality; it can threaten our homes and lives. Good news is people may live in harmony within this environment. CWESCP provides citizens with the information they need to protect their homes, improvements and communities from wildfire while maintaining healthy balanced ecosystems and improving wildlife habitat.

Student Outcomes: (3 things students will know when they leave the class)
1) Learn about wildfire ecology, wildfire physics and history of wildfires in Texas.
2) Learn how to assess your home and your communities risk from wildfire.
3) Learn how to develop a fire resistant landscape around your home and mitigate your home’s susceptibility to wildfire.
