A&M Forest Service
will host a free event showcasing wildland firefighting equipment in
conjunction with the release of Disney’s
Planes: Fire & Rescue. TFS personnel and wildland firefighters will be
on scene to explain the importance of preventing wildfires. Two fire engines
and two dozers will be on display and Smokey Bear will be in attendance.

WHY: Disney’s Planes: Fire & Rescue, the
comedy-adventure follows a crew of firefighting aircraft who are tasked with
protecting the historic Piston Peak National Park from wildfire, highlights the
work of the forest service. With the movie opening this weekend TFS wants to
give movie theater visitors a chance to meet real wildland fighters and learn
about the importance of protecting the state’s natural resources.
